Trial date set for Trail Blazers coach Chauncey Billups in poker game rigging case

NEW YORK (KPTV) - A trial date has been set for Portland Trail Blazers coach Chauncey Billups in a high-profile rigged poker games case.

The five-time NBA All Star was [arrested back in October](https://www.kptv.com/2025/10/23/portland-trail-blazers-head-coach-chauncey-billups-arrested-sports-betting-probe-ap-source-says/) on money laundering conspiracy and wire fraud conspiracy charges after federal prosecutors say he was profited from rigged poker games.

Billups [pleaded not guilty](https://www.kptv.com/2025/11/24/portland-trail-blazers-coach-chauncey-billups-pleads-not-guilty-rigged-poker-games-case/) during his arraignment on Nov. 24.

Billups, along with former NBA guard Damon Jones and nearly three dozen co-defendants are scheduled to go to trial starting on Nov. 2.

Since his arrest in November, the Blazers put Billups on unpaid leave, with Tiago Splitter serving as interim head coach in his stead.

Federal prosecutors say they expect to extend plea offers to 12 defendants in the coming days, and at least nine others are having conversations about pleading guilty.

There’s been no word if Billups and Jones are considering plea deals.
