Mudryk trains with another English club

Mykhailo Mudryk has become the forgotten man at Chelsea.

The Ukrainian international was signed from Shakhtar Donetsk in January 2023 for £61 million, making him one of Chelsea’s most expensive signings at the time.

But he has not featured in a competitive match for the club since failing a drugs test for a prohibited substance in late 2024. Six months later the Football Association formally charged him with an anti-doping violation, meaning he faced a potentially lengthy ban (up to four years) from the sport.

Despite this, a date for his formal disciplinary hearing to be held has yet to be held, and he remains in limbo, although he is banned from training with the Chelsea first-team.

Instead he has been training with non-league Uxbridge in a bid to maintain his fitness, whilst his long-term future at both club and international level remains to be resolved.

He is under contract at Chelsea until 2031. It is not clear whether Chelsea have the right to terminate it if he is found guilty of the doping offence.
