**Liverpool legend Mohamed Salah will likely leave the club at the end of the season, according to a big claim from former scout Mick Brown.**
The 33-year-old may have scored in Tuesday’s 2-1 defeat away to Nottingham Forest in the Premier League, but he remains a shadow of the player he used to be.
Salah has lost a yard of pace, while his elite ability in front of goal has deserted him this season, and Liverpool have a decision to make in the summer.
He has one more year on his current deal, so it’s a case of the Reds deciding whether to cash in or lose him on a free transfer at the end of next season.
Speaking to [_Football Insider_](https://www.footballinsider247.com/the-time-has-come-liverpool-plan-to-accept-huge-new-mohamed-salah-offer/), Brown said that Salah is expected to move on in the summer, with all parties seeing it as the right outcome:
_“I think the time has come for Salah to move on._ _Liverpool haven’t been at their best this season and he’s been a big part of that, he’s not playing anywhere near the level he was last season when he was breaking records._
_“He isn’t scoring goals and far too often isn’t involved in the game enough to justify his poor record in front of goal, and that has to be a concern._ _Plus, there was the behind the scenes stuff with the manager which they’ve moved on from now, but there’s no doubt it has left a bit of a sour feeling._
_“So when you add everything up, if a Saudi club is going to come in with a huge offer, I think Liverpool will be ready to take it and move on._ _And I expect Salah would be open to that as well with how this season has gone for him, it’s probably the best decision for everybody involved.”_
**One final moment of brilliance at Liverpool for Mo Salah?**
-------------------------------------------------------------
Salah is a far cry from the footballer who has lit up Anfield so many times down the years, with [Jurgen Klopp](https://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/first-team/389877-jurgen-klopp-mohamed-salah-world-class) among the many people to call him “world-class”.
A summer exit feels like the logical outcome for everyone concerned, allowing Liverpool to get good money for an ageing player, while he enjoys a new challenge late in his career.
This season shouldn’t remotely taint Salah’s Reds legacy, though – he is one of the best players in the club’s history – and if he does leave, he will receive an incredible farewell.
But Arne Slot and anyone associated with Liverpool will hope that Salah can deliver one or two moments of match-winning brilliance – hopefully in the latter stages of the Champions League.
