Chelsea are preparing a new move for Vitor Roque as the Premier League side continue to track the Palmeiras striker ahead of the summer transfer window.
According to Brazilian outlet Bolavip, the London club are working on a major proposal that could arrive on Palmeiras president Leila Pereira’s desk around mid-year. The idea is to advance negotiations if the 21-year-old maintains his current form and continues scoring goals for manager Abel Ferreira’s side.
Interest from Chelsea is not entirely new.Previous reports from Brazil claimed the club made contact with Palmeiras last year, and the answer to their enquiry was a deal close to €50m (£43m) last year. Manchester United and Tottenham entered the conversation around January, but neither are mentioned now.
The Brazilian club, however, do not consider that figure sufficient anymore and, according to this last report, will demand a higher fee for one of the key players in their squad.
Palmeiras see Vitor Roque as a cornerstone of the team and believe his value should reflect both his current impact and future resale potential. Internally, the striker’s age, goal output and long contract strengthen their negotiating position.
Contract situation strengthens Palmeiras
Another important factor is the player’s contract. Vitor Roque remains tied to Palmeiras until December 2029. That long-term deal removes any immediate pressure to sell and allows the club to wait for the right offer.
As a result, Palmeiras can afford patience. The club prefer to keep the striker through the first half of the season, hoping his performances in major competitions will push his value even higher.
If a transfer happens, Palmeiras want the deal to reflect the status he has gained since arriving.
Why Chelsea see Vitor Roque as a key profile
At Stamford Bridge, Chelsea reportedly see the Brazilian as a striker who fits their recruitment model. The club want young attackers who can contribute immediately but also develop further.
Vitor Roque fits that description. He combines pace, pressing ability and goal-scoring instinct, while already carrying experience in both European and South American football. Those qualities make him an attractive option as Chelsea continue to reshape their attacking line.
In the 68 matches played for Palmeiras since arriving in March 2025, he scored 25 goals and provided six assists. This season, he already has 3 goals in four league matches.
For now, no formal bid has arrived. However, if the forward maintains his current level, Brazilian reports suggest Chelsea could test Palmeiras’ resolve with a significant offer once the next transfer window opens.
