Manchester City 30% clause looks a masterstroke – Summer bonus on the way

SportwitnessSport Witness

Back in 2025, Sport Witness covered the situation of Maximo Perrone when he was only on loan at Como from Manchester City.

The midfielder was keen on staying at the Italian side, even if he was attracting interest from bigger clubs. Regardless, he joined Como on a permanent deal for a fee of around €13m.

Manchester City didn’t lose complete control over the midfielder. They had a buyback clause and inserted a future resale fee into his contract.

Now, Perrone’s Como are challenging for the Champions League and he is attracting interest from bigger clubs. His situation has now been covered again and it all could help the Citizens.

Juventus and Inter want Perrone

Calciomercato IT report that Juventus have been scouting the impressive midfielder for many weeks. They want to improve that position in the summer and Perrone is seen as a possible target.

There is also interest from Inter Milan, who could lose Hakan Calhanoglu in the summer.

The outlet are confident that Perrone is valued at €50m. One reason behind that valuation is probably because of Manchester City’s stake in the 23-year-old. There is confirmation that Pep Guardiola’s side have a buyback clause and a future resale clause in Perrone’s contract.

This has driven up Como’s asking price, with the player’s contract running out in 2029.

Manchester City can pocket over €10m

The Citizens’ sell-on stands at 30% of the profit Como earn from Perrone’s sale.

If their valuation stands at €50m, they could earn a profit of €37m in the summer. This would mean that Manchester City can earn about €11m from Perrone’s move to a bigger club.

That is quite a significant amount, especially since Guardiola’s side don’t seem keen on bringing him back to the Etihad.

It is a due reward for how the Argentine was sent on very good loans at Como and Las Palmas. This really helped him, as Perrone gained valuable game time that was key in progressing his development.
