Liverpool might end the 2025/26 season without Champions League football, but there are no immediate plans in place to sack Arne Slot.
The cost of sacking Slot is less than £10m, and after a 2-1 defeat to Wolves on Tuesday, the clamour for a change of coach among the Liverpool fans remains.
However, FSG are, for the time being, going to stick with Slot, while the chances of Jurgen Klopp returning to Anfield are low.

Jurgen Klopp won’t make Liverpool return as FSG stick with Arne Slot
It has been reported this week that Klopp could leave his Red Bull role and potentially be replaced by Oliver Glasner, who has been linked to Liverpool.
However, speaking to TEAMtalk, Graeme Bailey explained that the German will not be back on Merseyside.
He said: “In terms of Liverpool, he [Klopp] loves the club and city, but he won’t be back. He has done his Premier League thing, and there is no appetite on his side, likewise Liverpool, don’t seem ready to reopen that chapter.”
On Slot, it’s mentioned that FSG are still hoping Slot can succeed and there are no plans currently in place to make a change in the dugout.
Bailey added: “Arne Slot is feeling the pressure. He knows he needs Champions League football. But Liverpool don’t want to sack him, whether they have little choice but to do so is another matter.”

Two coaching roles for Jurgen Klopp after Red Bull
While Klopp won’t be back at Liverpool, it is still thought he could leave Red Bull in the near future.
Sky have reported this week that Real Madrid are still keeping tabs on the ex-Red.
However, if Klopp does not move to Spain, it is said that the German National Team are monitoring his situation.
Julian Nagelsmann remains in charge for the time being, but a poor display at the 2026 World Cup could see attention turn towards the former Borussia Dortmund manager.
