Everton linked with RB Leipzig’s Christoph Baumgartner
Everton will get the chance to bring in some new players in the next transfer window. Baumgartner has never played outside of Germany. Therefore, he may now fancy testing himself in England.
The 26-year-old would give the Toffees another option going forward. He rose up through the academy at Hoffenheim and was a regular for them at various different youth levels as a youngster. He then went on to make 138 appearances for their first-team in all competitions and fired in 31 goals.
Leipzig subsequently came calling for his signature in 2023 and he penned a long-term deal running until 2028. He has since made 110 outings for his current club and has found the net on 24 occasions, 14 of which have come this term. However, his long-term future is up in the air right now amid attention from elsewhere. The Austria international, who has made 56 caps for his country, may well be weighing up his options over the coming months.
David Moyes reaction to Everton win over Burnley
Everton boss Moyes was pleased with their display against Burnley. Speaking afterwards, he said: "Back-to-back wins in the Premier League at the moment is hard for anybody. And it's been difficult for us over the last month or two but certainly a really good win tonight.
"The win we got at Newcastle gave us confident going into tonight's game. I thought it showed in the way we played. I thought for long periods we dominated the ball. We maybe didn't make as many chances as we'd like but in the end we got a couple of goals."
