Everton only have one win in the last eight games at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.
The transition from Goodison Park to the new ground has been far from smooth for the Toffees – with fans also disgruntled by poor transport links and a questionable toilet design as well.
David Moyes has now been speaking to talkSPORT about a range of topics, and theorised that Everton might be struggling at the Hill Dickinson Stadium partly due to the excitement of those in the away section.

David Moyes says jubilation of away fans is “a little” reason behind poor Everton home form
When quizzed on why Everton have only won six out of 17 games at the new stadium so far, the Glaswegian said: “So there are lots of things playing a factor in it. I actually think that the away supporters coming to the Hill Dickinson are loving it because obviously it’s coming to new stadium, chance to see it.
“So there’s a lot of things playing a little bit of a reason why… hopefully we’ll turn it around.”
Football is a game of fine margins – especially in the Premier League nowadays – but even still, it feels a bit of a reach from Moyes to even suggest away fans are having an impact on Everton’s results at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.
MORE EVERTON STORIES
Travelling supporters are often a loud, passionate and dedicated bunch whatever stadium they attend, so we doubt Everton fans will be letting the 62-year-old use that as a reason to deflect away from poor results.
People must remember Everton weren’t amazing at Goodison Park last season either
It is easy to look at six wins in 17 games at the Hill Dickinson Stadium as a reason to worry. However, Everton were roughly performing the same at this stage of last season whilst still at Goodison Park.

As you can see, the Toffees had only recorded seven wins at Goodison Park by 5th March of the 2024/25 campaign.
Everton have also had to deal with a lot of squad upheaval, losing vast experience in the likes of Ashley Young, Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Abdoulaye Doucoure while bringing in many youngsters such as Tyler Dibling, Adam Aznou, Merlin Rohl and Thierno Barry.
Moyes’ current deal expires next year… 🤔

Those recruitment choices, paired with the move to the Hill Dickinson Stadium, meant this season was always going to be a strange one for Everton, so the fact the Toffees currently sit just five points away from fifth place should be seen as a huge achievement with all things considered.
