Liverpool are interested in signing Juventus defender Pierre Kalulu, according to reports in the Italian media.
Gazzetta Dello Sport claim that both the Reds and Manchester United “will try to tempt” the France international to leave Juve this summer.

Kalulu has been in impressive form for the Bianconeri this season, having performed well as both a centre-back and right-back.
The 25-year-old has been particularly effective as a fullback for Luciano Spalletti’s side in recent weeks, having racked up four assists since the New Year.
Why are Liverpool interested in the player?
The fact that Kalulu can play in the centre and on the right of a back four gives you a big clue as to who he could replace in the first-team squad.
Joe Gomez has been linked with moves away from Merseyside over the past few transfer windows. He was reportedly very close to joining AC Milan back in September, but the deal did not materialise after Marc Guehi’s transfer to Anfield collapsed.
As things stand, Gomez will have a year left on his contract at the end of the campaign, so it will be the last chance for the Reds to raise substantial funds from his sale.
Kalulu is not the only target under consideration
The German media have claimed over the past few days that Liverpool are also scouting Eintracht Frankfurt’s Nnamdi Collins. Buy the latest Liverpool kit from the official store here.
Like Kalulu, the 22-year-old has been deployed regularly as both a right-back and a centre-half over the course of this season. He is said to be angling for a move away from Frankfurt, too, having recently switched agents.
For that reason, Collins may well be an easier target to land than Kalulu. Juve are thought to be keen on keeping hold of the Frenchman, so he would probably cost more to sign.
