Liverpool remain on course to secure a Champions League place this season, but pundits believe significant summer recruitment will be required to prevent the inconsistency of the current campaign from carrying into next year.
The Premier League champions dropped to sixth in the table following defeat to Wolves, compounded by Chelsea’s emphatic 4-1 victory away at Aston Villa on Wednesday night.
Despite a record-breaking summer outlay, Arne Slot has reiterated that the club’s long-term strategy, targeting younger players, many without Premier League experience, remains firmly in place.
Meanwhile, MLS side FC Cincinnati have signed Polish goalkeeper Fabian Mrozek on loan from Liverpool, pending receipt of his P-1 visa.
The 22-year-old joins through the 2026 MLS season, with an option to make the move permanent, and will occupy an international roster slot.
Mrozek moved to Liverpool’s academy in August 2020 and recorded 19 clean sheets in 60 appearances across the U18, U19 and U21 levels, while also being named on the first-team bench six times.
The Wrocław native signed his first professional contract in July 2021 and has represented Poland at youth international level.
He has previously gained senior experience during loan spells with Swedish top-flight side IF Brommapojkarna and English club Forest Green Rovers. He joins Pat Noonan’s squad as a third-choice option behind first-choice Roman Celentano and experienced deputy Evan Louro
“Fabian is a talented young goalkeeper,” said Chris Albright, FC Cincinnati General Manager. “He will add quality and depth to our goalkeeping group and we look forward to his development under Paul Rogers. We’d like to welcome him to Cincinnati.”
