On an episode of the Mind The Game podcast, actor Timothée Chalamet had a quote about LeBron James joining the New York Knicks in free agency.

NBA superstar LeBron James and actor/New York Knicks superfan Timothée Chalamet recently linked up for an episode of James’ “Mind the Game” podcast, in which the two discussed their careers and being at the peak of their respective industries.

In a conversation about James’ career, he mentioned his famous 2010 decision to join the Miami Heat, which prompted Chalamet to say, “I was so mad, man, I wanted you to come to the (New York) Knicks so badly.”

James then responded with “I got a story I’ll tell you backstage about that New York situation.”

While James is set to be a free agent this summer, in the last year of his contract with the Los Angeles Lakers, there have beena ton of rumors about what he’ll do this offseason and which team he’ll end upon next year. The Cleveland Cavaliers, Golden State Warriors, and New York Knicks have all been mentioned as potential landing spots for James to sign with in free agency.

Though James has kept his plans for the future very close to his chest, as instead of talking about which team he’ll go to next, he’s hinted at retirement more than anything else.

Regardless, there is an expectation that James will play either one or two more NBA seasons, and as mentioned, the Cavaliers, Warriors, and Knicks have all stood out as potential teams forthe free agent James to sign with this offseason.

While quoting Chalamet’s reaction of, “Why didn’t you come to the (New York) Knicks, man, 2010 man, c’mon, that would have been so good,” to James talking about his decision to go to the Heat, X user SloHoopsFan, suggested that Chalamet could have hinted at James’ next team.

While there has been more concrete reporting about Jamesgoing back to Cleveland as a free agent this summer, New York has still been floatedout as a potential option for the forward to end his career with.

“As the trade deadline nears, theCavaliers, theNew York Knicks and theGolden State Warriors — all considered plausible destinations for James should he decide to play next season — have been in the news for their pursuit of big-name players,” Lakers insider Dave McMenamin wrote for ESPN back in February.

James has always spoken highly of New York and playing in Madison Square Garden, and he also has links to two of the most important decision-makers currently leading the team.

“Knicks president Leon Rose used to be James’ agent and New York head coach Mike Brown coached James in Cleveland,” Ashish Mathur of the Dallas Hoops Journal wrote.

Though Chalamet was potentiallyjust reacting to James’ comments about going to Miami, it is clear that the Knicks have been one of the teams mentioned as a landing spot for the 41-year-old. It would require him to sign a minimum or mid-level deal, but at this point in his career, nothing can be ruled out for James.

Chalamet Reveals On Podcast How LeBron Inspired Him

Along with his Knicks’ quote causing a stir on social media, Chalamet, most recently starring in the ‘Marty Supreme‘ movie, revealed that James’ previous ‘More Than a Game‘ documentary back in 2008 provided him with some major inspiration.

“You know, majorly ambitious as a New York youth to find athletic greatness the way these two men next to me found it. I never found it in my own life. But I had that aspiration, that Jose Alvarado, whatever you want to call it, that kind of that ‘dream big’ mentality,” he said. “[LeBron’s] whole career, but really More Than A Game documentary about LeBron in high school, his classmates and best friends. That was hugely impactful for me, man. That’s the life I aspired to have. I didn’t find it in athleticism, but I was able to find it in acting.”
