Bears' return in DJ Moore trade is great news for Eagles' AJ Brown asking price

The Chicago Bears have been linked in some exciting trade rumors this offseason, but the first deal to materialize was a blockbuster with the Buffalo Bills.

DJ Moore, the Bears' top wide receiver, is headed to the Bills. The return is a big question mark, and according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero, the Bears are sending Moore and a fifth-round pick in exchange for a second-rounder from the Bills.

This trade, as ESPN's Ben Solak notes, is some great news for the Philadelphia Eagles in their AJ Brown trade talks. The Bears getting a second-rounder means more likely than not the Eagles will land much more than that for Brown in a possible trade.

Bears' trade return for DJ Moore is a big help for Eagles

"If it's D.J. Moore for a second, then it's A.J. Brown for a first and then some," Solak posted on Twitter/x.

The Bears are sending Moore to the Bills along with a fifth-round pick in exchange for a second-round pick. That's a lot of value for the Bears, especially since the Bills are footing the bill for Moore's contract.

While there has been some consternation over the Eagles' asking price, which is a first-round pick and more for Brown, this Moore trade likely means the Eagles will have even more conviction that their demands are appropriate.

Brown is a three-time Pro Bowl WR and a three-time second-team All-Pro receiver. Moore hasn't been a Pro Bowler or an All-Pro in his career.

Brown, in the last four years, has 339 receptions on 521 targets for 5,034 receiving yards and 32 touchdowns. Moore, in the last four years, has 307 receptions on 479 targets for 3,900 yards and 27 touchdowns.

Brown is a clear step-up from Moore and has been, at times, a top-5 receiver in the league. If the Bears got a second-rounder for Moore, there's no reason why the Eagles wouldn't be able to land a first-round pick and more for Brown.

Last season, there was a Bears-Eagles alliance, as each team helped the other by beating their division rivals. And now in the offseason, the Bears are helping the Eagles in their trade negotiations with Brown, as their asking price of a first-rounder-plus is justified.

The Bears-Eagles alliance is still going strong into the offseason, as the Bears' trade return for their top WR is set to help the Eagles as they pursue a lofty return for Brown, their own top WR.
