Chelsea have been handed a huge setback as their transfer target Fisnik Asllani has expressed his desire to join Barcelona, as per reports.
Currently at TSG Hoffenheim, Asllani has emerged as one of the most promising youngsters in Germany, and his development has piqued the interest of some of Europe’s elite.
According to German outlet Fussballdaten, Chelsea have Asllani high in their options list and are aiming to bring him to Stamford Bridge in the summer transfer window. However, the young forward has made his intentions clear as he prioritizes Barcelona among all the clubs interested in signing him.
The report categorically stated that Chelsea are fascinated by Asllani’s versatility upfront, as they see him as a player who can not only play as a centre-forward but also drop deep and link up play. However, the 23-year-old disclosed in an interview with Sport Bild in October 2025 that Barcelona had always been his dream club.
“The club of my dreams has always been Barcelona. I’ve always wanted to play there. I’d like to play the Champions League someday. It’s important to have dreams and work hard to achieve them,” he said.
Barcelona are preparing for a future with their veteran striker Robert Lewandowski, whose contract will run out at the end of the season. Asllani could replace Lewandowski should Barca decide not to offer the latter a contract extension.
In addition to Chelsea, Asllani is also reportedly drawing interest from Premier League sides Tottenham Hotspur and Aston Villa. Both teams are said to be looking to strengthen their squad with a striker who is effective in quick transitions.
So far this season, Asllani has registered 15 goal contributions in 25 appearances across competitions, and his current market value stands at €30 million, according to Transfermarkt.
Barcelona set for transfer windfall as Chelsea eye move for Brazilian star – Reports
Barcelona are reportedly set to cash in on their former forward Vitor Roque, as Chelsea are very interested in signing him in the summer. Roque joined Barca from Athletico-PR in 2024, but he struggled for game time at the Catalan club and was sold to Palmeiras in 2025 for a reported fee of €25 million plus another €5 million in add-ons.
However, Barca retained a 20% sell-on clause as part of the transfer agreement to Palmeiras, ensuring they benefit financially from his future moves.
According to Bolavip (via Mundo Deportivo), Chelsea are eyeing a move for the Brazilian forward this coming summer and are preparing a significant offer to secure his offer. The report added that his departure is contingent on an attractive offer arriving, with the Blues having made an initial offer of €50 million. However, Palmeiras deems the amount insufficient to part ways with their player.
