The Green Bay Packers have a few needs in particular to address entering the 2026 NFL offseason. One of those needs comes in the defensive secondary.
Last season, it was clear that the Packers needed help in the defensive backfield. After superstar pass rusher Micah Parsons went down with an injury, the secondary issue became an even bigger problem.
With that being said, there are a few avenues that Green Bay could explore to improve the secondary. Brian Gutekunst and the front office could target help in free agency or the 2026 NFL Draft. There are a few players who could be available for trade as well.
A new report has suggested an intriguing target that the Packers could pursue in NFL free agency.
Green Bay Packers Linked to Potential $27.4 Million Cornerback
According to a report from Easton Butler of Packer Report, Green Bay is interested in signing free agent cornerback Cam Taylor-Britt this offseason.
“The Packers are monitoring CB Cam Taylor-Britt, per a source,” Butler wrote on X. “Taylor-Britt was a trade candidate at the deadline, with the Packers being interested back then as well.”
Taylor-Britt would be a solid target for the Packers. He isn’t a star, but he would be more than capable of playing a valuable role in Green Bay.
Last season with the Cincinnati Bengals, the 26-year-old cornerback played in just eight games. He racked up 21 tackles and five defended passes.
In his entire 47-game NFL career, Taylor-Britt has racked up 203 total tackles to go along with 0.5 sacks, two forced fumbles, seven interceptions, two defensive touchdowns, and 38 defended passes.
What Would It Take for the Packers to Sign Taylor-Britt?
At the end of the day, the Packers are known for being cautious with their money. They aren’t going to spend top dollar to bring in a cornerback this offseason, barring a major surprise.
Thankfully, Taylor-Britt is among the list of bargain free agents for Green Bay to target.
Spotrac has projected that the cornerback’s market value will be around $9.2 million per year. He could be had on a projected three-year deal worth just under $27.5 million.
Assuming that is the price tag, the Packers could very well be players for him in free agency. However, after missing on Nate Hobbs last offseason in free agency, Green Bay needs to be careful not to make the same mistake for the second year in a row.
Expect to hear plenty of rumors surrounding the Packers as the offseason gets underway. For now, Taylor-Britt is a name worth monitoring as free agency draws near.
