After seeing their losing streak stop at 11 games, the San Antonio Spurs got back on the winning track in emphatic fashion against the Philadelphia 76ers. The Spurs outscored the Sixers 81-39 in the middle two quarters to blow the game open and easily jog to a 131-71 road victory. The W improved San Antonio to 44-17 on the season.

Stats: Spurs at 76ers

Spurs at 76ers – Final Grades

Victor Wembanyama

Wembanyama dominated on the defensive end, totaling six blocks and eight rebounds in 24 minutes. Even when he wasn’t blocking shots, the Frenchman was making the Sixers second guess their life decisions. His defense was so good that he didn’t have to break a sweat on the offensive end to destroy Philadelphia during his time on the court.

Grade: B+

De’Aaron Fox

Fox did his job. He hit half of his shots from the field and handed out seven assists without turning the ball over. He also added five rebounds and a steal during his 21 minutes of playing time. All in all, this was a glorified rest day for San Antonio’s starting point guard.

Grade: B

Stephon Castle

Castle stuffed the statsheet during his 21 minutes. He was 6-for-10 from the floor on his way to 15 points, ten assists and four rebounds. Castle’s ball control and decision-making have been much better recently and he finished with just one turnover against the 76ers. Overall, Castle was another player for the good guys who thoroughly dominated his minutes.

Grade: A-

Devin Vassell

Vassell continued his red-hot play. He scored 22 points in 23 minutes and was 6-for-8 from downtown. Over his last five games, he’s averaging more than 20 points per game while hitting 25-of-40 (62.5%) from three-point territory. Every shot looks like it’s going in right now. Vassell’s aggression is through the roof and he’s simultaneously shooting the lights out and making the right decisions. Add it all up and this has to be considered as one of the best stretches of his career.

Grade: A-

Julian Champagnie

There’s nothing to complain about regarding Champagnie’s play. He had ten points in 22 minutes, hit 2-of-5 from deep, 2-of-4 from two-point territory and grabbed seven rebounds. He added two assists and some above average defense. Champagnie doesn’t appear willing to relinquish his starting job any time soon.

Grade: B

Carter Bryant

Statistically, Bryant had one of his most productive evenings. He had 11 points and was 3-for-6 from deep while also grabbing nine rebounds and dishing out three assists. Bryant hustled on the defensive end and looked comfortable on the court. Well done.

Grade: B+

Keldon Johnson

The good: Johnson had 12 points in 22 minutes and was 6-for-8 from two-point range. The burly forward also grabbed nine rebounds during his playing time. The electricity he brought to the floor was valuable. The bad: Johnson was 0-for-3 from three-point land and turned the ball over three times.

Grade: B

Dylan Harper

Harper was arguably the most unstoppable player on the court in the first half. His strong play continued after halftime and he ended up with 22 points on highly efficient shooting. The rookie finished 8-for-11 from the field and 4-for-4 at the free throw line while hitting 2-of-4 three-pointers. His playmaking wasn’t especially good (two assists, two turnovers) but his downhill scoring and perimeter shooting were toasty enough to make him a highly lucrative asset.

Grade: A-

Luke Kornet

Kornet didn’t do anything too special in his 12 minutes. He had a basket, a couple rebounds, a pair of assists and a block. Kornet kept his effort level high and his mistakes low, which ended up being enough to make the lead grow even when Wembanyama was on the bench.

Grade: B-

Mitch Johnson

Coach Mitch got a resounding response from his team following the disappointing loss to the Knicks. He kept everyone’s minutes in check as he guided his squad to the breezy win.
