Sky Sports provide update on Liverpool pursuit for Nnamdi Collins

Liverpool have already agreed to sign Jeremy Jacquet from Ligue 1 side Rennes this summer, with further defensive reinforcements expected amid potential departures.

Andy Robertson and Joe Gomez could leave after being linked with moves in recent windows, while uncertainty surrounds Ibrahima Konaté’s future.

The French centre-back has shown strong form in recent months, but talks over a new contract have stalled, and his deal expires at the end of the season.

Reports emerged last week that Liverpool were among several clubs linked with Eintracht Frankfurt defender Nnamdi Collins. The 22-year-old has impressed in the Bundesliga, attracting interest from Premier League rivals including Arsenal and Manchester City.

Reports suggest Collins is seeking a summer move from Frankfurt and has even changed agents to facilitate a transfer, with England a preferred destination.

Collins, who can play at full-back or in central defence, spoke highly of Liverpool earlier this season ahead of the two clubs’ Champions League clash. He featured off the bench in Liverpool’s 5-1 win and earned his first cap for Germany earlier this campaign.

“I was rooting for Liverpool in the draw,” he told Kicker. “I’m incredibly happy in Frankfurt, but I also think the Premier League is great, especially Liverpool.

“You should always set high goals; that’s why we all started playing football. But honestly, that’s not playing a role in my thoughts at the moment. I feel very comfortable at Eintracht and am extremely excited about what lies ahead.”

According to Sky Sports, Liverpool are not in the race to sign Nnamdi Collins this summer. Collins is open to a transfer if a suitable offer comes in. Frankfurt sporting director Markus Krösche is asking for €40million, with the German under contract at the club until 2030.
