Where should the Buffalo Bills focus most during 2026 free agency?

Perhaps some of the shine is now off the idea of Buffalo pursuing a significant free-agent wide receiver, but one should never count out president of football operations/general manager Brandon Beane in the wheeling and dealing arena. Even with the addition of Moore, some may still see wide receiver as the team’s biggest need — after all, quarterback Josh Allen was short on targets there aside from wide receiver Khalil Shakir.

Though reports suggest One Bills Drive and center Connor McGovern are engaged in dialogue with the hopes of him returning as the team’s starter there, it’s anyone’s guess what the team will find reasonable to retain him, as well left guard David Edwards.

There’s also the important task new defensive coordinator Jim Leonhard has in remaking the Bills’ defense into a unit that better represents his ideals. He and the team are likely to prioritize the defensive front seven, where far too many questions remain about who fits where, and what’s still needed.

Understanding that almost nothing can be guaranteed as solved with any free-agency signing, it is the first step each season in roster development/improvement. With a less-than-ideal crop of blue-chip prospects in the 2026 NFL Draft, teams may focus more astutely on quality production from NFL veterans.

Taking the above into consideration, if the Bills can (hopefully still) make only one big “splash signing” in free agency, where should it happen? Is it another wide receiver, someone along the interior offensive line (perhaps their own free agents), or on defense in pursuit of a premiere 3-4 system talent along the defensive front seven?
