WWE reportedly had talks with NFL legend Tom Brady about a potential appearance.
Logan Paul has been going back and forth with Tom Brady over the past few weeks after the NFL legend questioned his athletic abilities and called pro wrestling cute. Several WWE Superstars also responded to Brady, challenging him to step inside the ring. It seems like everything might’ve been pre-planned, as reports indicate that Brady could make an appearance for the promotion.
According to WrestleVotes Radio (via Fightful Select), WWE had informal talks with Brady’s representatives last year after they decided to bring WrestleMania back to Las Vegas. The report notes that some departments within the company are working on logos, specialty merchandise, and branding for the NFL legend, such as “T-Bone” and “The Untouchable Tom Brady.”
Tom Brady is part-owner of the Las Vegas Raiders and Fanatics, WWE’s official merchandise producer. Sources did not believe that Brady would have an actual match, but noted that an appearance is not out of the question.
Tom Brady took an explicit shot at Logan Paul over WWE criticism
Tom Brady took his verbal banter with Logan Paul to the next level in a recent Instagram video. He was working out with former NFL player Rob Gronkowski, and when the latter praised Paul for enhancing his skills in combat sports, Brady bluntly called the Maverick a b*tch.
“Logan Paul’s a b*tch,” Brady said. “Just say he’s a b*tch. Come play with the big boys, you’re lucky you won’t get hit.”
Logan Paul responded to Tom Brady’s comments on the latest episode of IMPAULSIVE, saying he might throw hands with Brady during their upcoming flag football game. He then took it a bit further by saying he could beat up any football player in a boxing match, and upped the ante by betting $1 million, saying none of them can hang with him in a fight.
Several NFL players have since responded to Logan Paul’s challenge. With WrestleMania 42 fast approaching, it will be interesting to see if a football star steps up to Paul at the event and what role Tom Brady might play in the angle.
