A new McBride injury update for the New York Knicks signals good news after he was originally set to be out for 4-6 weeks after surgery.
The New York Knicks have gotten a new Miles McBride injury update, as the backup guard has been on the injury report out since early February after undergoing surgery on a core muscle issue.
While previous reporting speculated McBridewouldn’t return until the playoffs, or even that his status for the postseason would be in jeopardy, the latest update on a potential return timeline for the guard could signal him getting back on the court for the Knicks sooner than expected.
“I still thinkthere’s positivity there, I think that things have been going well,”Ian Begley of SNY said. “Idon’t thinkthere’s any reason to fret or to worry ifyou’re a Knicks fan about Miles McBride not being back and ready to go for the postseason. That’s the trajectory thatI’ve heard about and talked to people about, and talked to other people about, and Ihaven’t heard anything different than that.”

Knicks Get Encouraging Miles McBride Injury Update
After sufferingthe core muscle injury and undergoing surgery, James L. Edwards of The Athletic reported that McBride was at risk of missing the start of the playoffs, with an originalsix-to-eight week return timeline. Team insider Stefan Bondy confirmed that news.
A few weeks sitting out, Edwards then reported that McBride said he had no return date set for coming back from the injury.
“We just spoke to Miles McBride on the record for the first time since surgery,”he wrote in a post on X. “Said he went to get his ankle and other things that were bothering him checked out and learned about the core issue.Hedidn’t offer a timetableto return but is able to do form shooting. Called it a slow process.”

Bondy added that McBride had been ‘shooting without jumping,‘but at that point, there was concern that the guard, having the best season of his career, would be out for longer than the Knicks were expecting.
However,Bondy’s latest McBride injury updatesignals that the recovery process isgoing well andthat there is positivityon the 25-year-oldcoming back to his pre-injury form.
“I kept hearing that there was optimism and positivity about his rehab and how it was going,”he added. “Ihaven’t heard anything to date that leads me to think otherwise.”
Knicks Injury Report, Josh Hart Injury Update
As far as injuries to this Knicks team go, McBride has been out longer than anyone on the roster at any point this season. He is still listed on the injury report, but could very well return sometime in late March or early April, a timeline that would be before the playoffs begin.
Along with him, the Knicks currently have Josh Hart listed on the injury report. The wing is dealing with a back injury and is questionable for NewYork’s Friday game against the Denver Nuggets.
“Knicks listing Josh Hart as questionable for tomorrow at Denver with a lower back contusion,”Begley wrote on X. “Hart suffered the injury last night vs OKC.”
Mitchell Robinson is another Knicks player whowas dealing with health problems, as he sat out against the Thunder due to suffering an ankle injury earlier in the week against the Toronto Raptors. However, what is good news for both the team and the top offensive rebounder in the league is that hewas recently taken off NewYork’s injury report.
Both Hart and McBride are the only two players listed on the Knicks’ injury report for the game versus the Nuggets.
