Young will play 17-20 minutes in his debut, with most of his exposure coming in the first half.
The Trae Young era of the Washington Wizards is about to kick off on Thursday.
Washington Wizards / Schedule
Out since Dec. 27, the star guard will finally make his Wizards debut at home against the Utah Jazz. A right knee MCL sprain and a right quadriceps contusion have pushed Young's first game for the franchise since he was acquired ahead of the NBA trade deadline from the Atlanta Hawks.
Addressing the media before the game, head coach Brian Keefe revealed that Young will be limited to 17 to 20 minutes.
Most minutes will come in the first half, with plenty of playing time during the third quarter.
With Young out for most of the season due to injuries, the Wizards are cautiously managing his playing exposure to avoid any potential risks.
He only appeared in 10 games this 2025-26, averaging 19.3 points in 41.5 percent shooting with 8.9 assists.
