The NBA could be losing one of its biggest stars if Anthony Edwards and the Minnesota Timberwolves win a championship soon.

The 24 year old has become a face of the league since bursting onto the scene 2020. Edwards was drafted first overall by the Timberwolves and has put the franchise into a position to succeed in the competitive Western Conference.

“I’m tryna find a way to get a ring, but once I get one I’ll be cool,” Edwards said in a social media video. “I’ll probably go play football. Especially if I get one while I’m still young.

“If I get one before I turn 30 I’m definitely gonna go try to play football.”

The former five-star high school recruit has been an elite basketball player since his teenage years. However, football has been something on Edwards’ mind for some time as a big fan of the NFL.

Edwards even joked that he would thoroughly enjoy playing wide receiver or even backup quarterback.

“Probably receiver,” Edwards said. “I might try to go quarterback. Probably backup quarterback. I ain’t really got to play unless my starter gets hurt. I could go for that if my starter quarterback gets hurt and everybody loves a backup… play behind [PatrickMahomes] or something.”
