Ace Bailey Career High Helps Jazz End Losing Streak Against Washington

WASHINGTON — Despite missing four starters, the Utah Jazz were able to end their losing streak with a 122-112 win over the Washington Wizards on Thursday.

Ace Bailey led the squad with a career-high 32 points on 63 percent shooting, Isaiah Collier added 27 points and 11 assists, and Kyle Filipowski posted 20 points and 14 boards.

The Jazz will close their road trip in Milwaukee on Saturday.

Ace Bailey consistently comes out of the gates strong.

6 points and a steal in the first four minutes.

Now he has to sustain the effort and energy through the full 48.

With four starters out, the Jazz lead Washington 37-23 at the end of the first quarter…

Stats don’t count against the Wizards, but I continue to be impressed by the no-nonsense approach of Blake Hinson.

Don’t need to show off, just do what you do well.

Shoot, attack closeouts, or pass. He can make a good living that way.

— Ben Anderson (@BensHoops) March 6, 2026

After one, the @utahjazz lead the @WashWizards 37-23.

I think a lineup with Ace Bailey and Cody Williams as wings/forwards has some real future potential.

Both are playing well here in the first half against the Wizards.

Washington was rumored to be one of Ace Bailey’s preferred destinations in the NBA Draft last summer.

In his first game against the Wizards, Bailey posted 21 points, two rebounds, and two steals…

In the first half.

New career-high for Ace Bailey.

He’s at 26 points with 7 minutes left in the third quarter.

— Chandler Holt (@CHoltSports) March 6, 2026

A little surprised it’s taken this long to get this game out of Ace Bailey.

He can get really hot from the floor and doesn’t need a lot of space to get his shot off.

This wasn’t terribly uncommon in college.

Washington wins the third quarter 35-26, and Utah’s lead is now just nine heading into the fourth.

Anyone’s game, and it should feel like a win-win for Jazz fans, no matter what the final score is.

Fourth Quarter

Good to remember that Ace Bailey is more than a year younger than both Kon Knueppel and VJ Edgecombe.

That’s not to take anything away from their rookie seasons, but Ace is still five months away from turning 20.

He’s a month younger than projected top 5 pick Caleb Wilson.
