Tremaine Edmunds' time with the Chicago Bears is over.
The Bears are releasing him, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter, in what is at least a slightly surprising move to emerge Thursday night.
Edmunds has spent the last three seasons in Chicago. In that time, he has made 335 tackles and intercepted a whopping nine passes.
In both 2023 and 2025, he had four INTs. He finished his seasons with 113, 110 and 112 tackles.
Clearly, he was a consistent contributor for the Bears, but now they're moving on.

Why are the Bears releasing Tremaine Edmunds?
This is all about money.
The Bears free up $15 million in cap space by releasing Edmunds.
They had already given him permission to seek a trade, and with that seemingly not coming together, he's now heading to the open market as a free agent.
Could the Bills sign Tremaine Edmunds?
This will be the first link everyone makes.
Edmunds spent his first five seasons in Buffalo, and the Bills need linebacker help.
This would come down to salary ask. The Bills don't have loads of cap space, but if they can get Edmunds to sign a value contract, this could end up being a fantastic match.
