The speculation regarding Las Vegas Raiders‘ Maxx Crosby continues to get louder with free agency and the 2026 NFL Draft fast approaching. As a result, there are questions regarding which team will make the offer that can land the veteran pass rusher.
Crosby’s name isbeing linked to several teams in the speculation mill, including the Dallas Cowboys. After missing the playoffs last season, the Cowboys are looking to avoid that in 2026, and one way to do so is by finding a replacement for Micah Parsons.
The Raiders star would be one player more than capable of replacing Parsons’ production, and ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter shared the latest regarding where Dallas stands in this Crosby saga.
“They’re making a lot of noise, rattling a lot of sabers,”Schefter said during a March 5 appearance on Mad Dog Sports Radio. “And look, they’re one of the teams that I think will be exploring a Maxx Crosby trade. Whether they can get it done or not is a different question. We’ll see. Obviously, Jerry knows the window, and he’d like to get something done.
“They move on from Micah. That would be a heck of a way to replace Micah Parsons, by going out and finding a way to deal for Maxx Crosby. I do think they’ll be active. I do think that they’ll be into a lot of different upgrades, and we’ll see what they can get done here in the next week or so.”
Maxx Crosby Gets Bold Take Regarding His Future
On the March 4 edition of “Wake Up Barstool,” The Athletic’s James Palmer shared a bold take on the Crosby situation.
“I think there’s a chance that this happens this week, that he’s on the move,” Palmer said. “I think the reason that is, is you want to maximize things, right?
“If you’re [Raiders general manager] John Spytek, and I had a chance to have a conversation with him at the Combine, if you want to maximize this, you want to get it done before everybody else is bidding on edge rushers or spending their money or spending their cap money, and you have the ability to move him before that happens. I think that puts the Raiders in the best spot possible.”
Teams Are Calling Raiders Over Maxx Crosby
Palmer also suggested the Raiders understand a full turnaround may still be a year or two away. Because of that, it would make sense for the team to hear at least what other clubs might be willing to offer in a deal for Crosby.
“When I talked to John Spytek, he kind of told me, I don’t think they want to give [Crosby] up,” Palmer added. “I really don’t think they want that. But he told me, and this part was the most specific, I think, guys, he was like, we have to be sober with where we’re at. What he’s saying is, I don’t think this isturning around tomorrow.
“We know this isn’t a quick turnaround. So is Maxx Crosby going to be a part of that? Is his value that big in a year or two? His value is probably the highest it can be. I think the Las Vegas Raiders do understand that. So they’re not actively shopping him, but teams are calling, and teams are interested.”
