According to the Los Angeles Lakers head coach, Doncic is fully mindful of it and will attempt not to earn more whistles from the officials.
"He’s aware that he’s close. And he’s trying [to not draw more],” Redick said, via Dave McMenamin of ESPN.
Doncic clinched his 14th technical foul of the season in the Lakers' 110-101 victory over the New Orleans Pelicans on Tuesday. The Slovenian superstar constantly complained about referees not calling DeAndre Jordan a lane violation as he was shooting free throws.
Two more technical fouls will automatically trigger a one-game suspension on the side of the Lakers guard. Phoenix Suns star Dillon Brooks is the only player who reached the league's technical foul limit this year.
Redick and the Lakers expect Doncic to keep his emotions in check, as a likely suspension will significantly impact the team's desire for a strong late-season finish.
The Lakers will enter Thursday's showdown against the Denver Nuggets with a 37-24 record, currently sixth in the West.
