LeBron James is the NBA's all-time leading scorer.
But in Ohio high school basketball, he was just knocked down a rung by Furman commit Cameron Elwer, who plays at tiny Delphos St. John's in the western part of the state.
Elwer, the best shooter in the entire state right now, achieved the feat on Thursday night.
James scored 2,646 points in his career at Akron's St. Vincent-St. Mary High School. Before Thursday night, that ranked him eighth in OHSAA history.
The King is now ninth.
Elwer moved past James with a transition bucket in the fourth quarter of a district postseason game.

Elwer and his Blue Jays teammates haven't lost yet this season. They've got to be considered the favorite to win the Division VII state title in Ohio, the classification for the smallest schools.
This isn't just a case of mediocre competition, though. Elwer and Delphos St. John's play in the Midwest Athletic Conference, the best small-school conference in the state. They also scheduled impressive non-conference opposition this season to prepare for what's to come.
And clearly Elwer is well-regarded beyond there, too, as he's heading to one of the top mid-major programs in the country at Furman.
All told, this is just a cool honor. James was obviously a sensation beginning with his high school career.
The stage might not be exactly the same, but Elwer has now left his mark on the game in his own way -- and he's hoping to cut down the final net before he's done.
