Another night, another major accomplishment for Los Angeles Lakers superstar, LeBron James.
Heading into the Lakers’ matchup against the Denver Nuggets, LeBron needed just three field goals on Thursday night to surpass Lakers legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar for having the most in NBA history.
A baseline turnaround jumper did the trick on Thursday night. LeBron picked up his 15,838th field goal to take control of the record.
Magic Johnson was proud to see it.

Heading into halftime of the Lakers-Nuggets matchup, LeBron had checked in for 16 minutes. The star forward was nearly perfect from the field. He shot 5-6 and went 2-2 from the free-throw line.
LeBron had 12 points, five rebounds, two assists, one steal, and one block at the end of the first half. The Lakers trailed the Nuggets 64-54.
At age 41, LeBron is working on going out of the NBA on top. Amid his eighth (and potentially last?) season with the Lakers, the Hall of Famer is doing what he can to try to bring another trophy to LA.
Leading up to Thursday’s action, LeBron has 43 games under his belt. The veteran superstar has shot 50% from the field and knocked down 31% from three. He is producing 21.6 points per game.
Beyond his scoring, LeBron has averaged 5.7 rebounds and 7.0 assists this season.
With another historical accomplishment to add to his case, James continues to earn credit as one of the greatest players the world has seen.
