LeBron elbow injury: James gives a vague update

LeBron James gave an injury update on his elbow, saying it feels pretty sore and he considers himself day-to-day.

LeBron James sustained an elbow injury during Thursday's loss to the Denver Nuggets, as the Los Angeles Lakers star gave an update on his injury.

"It's pretty sore right now," James told the reporters in the locker room. "It feels like a funny bone situation, but even more intense. Let's see what happens over the next couple of days."

"Hopefully, I'll wake up tomorrow, and it doesn't feel too much worse than it is now. If it feels better, that'd be great," James added.

James drove hard to the basket and nailed a layup with 4:06 left in regulation. But he remained on the floor after landing his left elbow on the ground.

The superstar forward was visibly in pain following the play, got subbed out of the game upon the Lakers' timeout, and was treated by Lakers athletic trainer Mike Mancias on the bench.

In his postgame presser, JJ Redick told reporters that James is already being managed from his latest elbow injury.

"He's got ice on it right now, and it'll get looked at," the Lakers coach said.

Meanwhile, James shared an alarming update on his left elbow.

He finished against the Nuggets with 16 points, eight assists and five rebounds in 35 minutes, as he made history by surpassing Kareem Abdul-Jabbar to become the NBA's all-time leader in career field goals made.

Earlier in the game, Deandre Ayton took an untimely exit due to a knee injury. The big man only played four minutes before leaving.
