Luka Doncic was issued a technical foul against the Nuggets because of using profanity towards a referee, said Crew Chief Ed Malloy.
Los Angeles Lakers superstar Luka Doncic was issued his 15th technical foul of the season against the Denver Nuggets.
If Doncic picks up another technical, he will serve a 1-game suspension.
After the game, Crew Chief referee Ed Malloy explained why Doncic was issued a technical against the Nuggets.
"Doncic was issued a technical foul for using profanity towards a referee. We are trained not to stop an offensive transition when calling a technical foul on the defense," Malloy said in the pool report.
Before the game, head coach JJ Redick told reporters that Doncic is mindful of his technical foul counts and will attempt not to draw more calls.
Phoenix Suns star Dillon Brooks is currently the only player this season who reached the NBA's technical foul limit.
