Liverpool have been linked with Bayern Munich winger Michael Olise ahead of the summer transfer window.

Bayern Munich have no intention to entertain a departure for Michael Olise amid Liverpool’s admiration, it has been suggested.

The winger has been majestic for the Bundesliga giants since joining from Crystal Palace for £50 million in the summer of 2024. In his maiden season, Olise plundered 20 goals and 23 assists in all competitions as Bayern regained the German title.

Vincent Kompany’s side are on track to defend their crown this term, while they harbour ambitions of Champions League glory this campaign. Olise has scored 13 times and created 25 in 36 appearances.

Liverpool will likely be in need of wingers in the upcoming summer transfer window. Uncertainty continues around the future of Mo Salah, whose form has jettisoned during the 2025-26 campaign. Salah has been heavily linked with a move to Saudi Arabia. Meanwhile, Cody Gakpo’s output has also dropped throughout the season, having scored just once in his past nine games. Federico Chiesa, who has been a bit-part player since arriving from Juventus in August 2024, is likely to depart.

Olise would be many fans’ perfect Salah replacement given he is still only aged 24 and has plenty of Premier League experience. But according to Fabrizio Romano, a deal is highly unlikely. Speaking on YouTube, he said: “For Liverpool, I think it’s going to be a busy summer for wingers. It’s very clear that Liverpool need to reinforce their wingers—the situation with Mo Salah, Cody Gakpo. I think in general, Liverpool need to add something fresh in that position.

“But at the moment, on Michael Olise, it’s a similar situation to Vitinha and Real Madrid. You can appreciate the player — he is one of the best in the world in his position — but Bayern have no intention at all to let him go. Bayern are very happy with Olise, and Bayern don’t even want to negotiate.

“Liverpool appreciate Olise, yes for sure, but who doesn't appreciate Olise? At the moment, that’s the story. Bayern are very happy with the boy, there is no release clause in his contract now, and so the situation remains under control for Bayern. I think the realistic targets for Liverpool will be others."

Liverpool are said to be keeping tabs on Yan Diomande of RB Leipzig. The 19-year-old has enjoyed a superb maiden campaign at the Red Bull Arena after joining from CD Leganes. Diomande has netted 10 goals and registered seven assists in 26 appearances.
