It had looked like Nicolas Jackson would certainly return to Chelsea in the summer.
Jackson is currently on loan at Bayern Munich, and it has been constantly reported that the German giants have no plans to sign the striker permanently.
Some Chelsea fans now want to keep hold of Jackson, but they may not get their wish.

Bayern Munich yet to make a decision on Nicolas Jackson
According to The Sun, there is still a possibility that Jackson remains at the Allianz Arena beyond this season.
The outlet claims that sources close to the player have denied that Bayern have already made a decision on the 24-year-old’s future.
In the Bundesliga this term, Jackson has only made five starts. As everyone expected, he has had to play second fiddle to Harry Kane.

Kane has had another outstanding campaign, scoring 45 goals in 37 appearances. There is no chance of Jackson ever displacing the England captain.
Even so, the Senegal international’s preference still appears to be remaining in Munich. However, Jackson staying at Chelsea has also not been ruled out.
Nicolas Jackson’s potential role at Chelsea next season
If Jackson does return to Chelsea and is reintegrated into the first-team squad, he is going to have to settle for a deputy role.
The former Villarreal man has little hope of ousting Joao Pedro, especially with the form that the Brazilian is in.
Pedro’s hat-trick against Aston Villa was the Brazil international’s 14th Premier League goal of the season. It means that he has already matched Jackson’s best tally in a Chelsea shirt.

With nine games left to play, Pedro is going to surpass that and could easily get to 20 before the campaign finishes. That is what Jackson is up against, and considering that he was not up for the fight the first time, it would not be a surprise if that proved to be the case again.
Premier League clubs are keen on Jackson, so there is always a possibility that he joins another English side if neither Chelsea nor Bayern want him.
