'I have to say': David Moyes makes one thing clear as Everton ponder Jack Grealish transfer…

Everton manager David Moyes has maintained how much he values Jack Grealish as a decision on his future will be needed this summer.

The 30-year-old winger has seen his season at Everton draw to a premature end having undergone surgery on a fracture in his foot.

Grealish had played a key role in the side under David Moyes, where he was able to return two goals and six assists to the Toffees.

Grealish has enjoyed his time at Everton and his presence on the left wing is being felt as he remains Everton’s top assist maker for the season.

“I have to say, Jack was brilliant for us in the early part of the season. He gave us lots of things which we haven’t had, and he helped the team greatly,” Moyes told TalkSPORT.

“We’ve missed him over the middle of the season – sort of December and January – when we also had a few injuries as well. But that is probably no different to other clubs.”

James Tarkowski named Grealish as Moyes’ favourite player at the club and it is abundantly clear just how highly the manager rates the Manchester City loanee.

The question will turn to how much they need to part with in order to bring Grealish back to Merseyside for next season.

Some have suggested that Man City could be open to loaning Grealish to Everton again, but that could include an obligation to buy.

The players brought in to replace Grealish like Tyrique George and Tyler Dibling just are not cutting it for Moyes.

Although both are still very young, it is clear the pair have not earned his trust as he has instead opted to play Dwight McNeil, who was on the verge of leaving in January.

Ben Foster expects Grealish to come back stronger next season from this injury setback.

That is something that Everton are going to have to consider, with the winger set to turn 31 in September and going into the new season on the back of a significant injury.

How Moyes views his impact cannot be denied, though, with the Scot adoring the Manchester City forward.
