Dusan Vlahovic has been linked with a summer transfer to Barcelona throughout this season but it seems the Catalans have cooled their interest in the 26-year-old.
According to Diario Sport, the striker is “not a priority” for Barcelona and “contacts have been frozen for weeks” as the Catalans look for alternatives.
In fact the report even goes as far as to say “barring a surprise, Vlahovic will not wear the Blaugrana shirt” even though he is thought to be fairly keen on a move to the Camp Nou. The only way Barca may reignite their interest is in the event they don’t return to the 1:1 rule this season.
Barcelona’s initial interest in Vlahovic came about under Xavi Hernandez, who was a big fan, but the feeling now is that the striker is “not the style of player” they are looking for at the moment when it comes to a new No. 9.
Although Vlahovic is seen as a great goalscorer, the Catalans want a more versatile player who can feature across the front three.
