Premier League Team of the Week XI

Just nine Premier League gameweeks remain. Arsenal look set to claim the title, while Tottenham Hotspur are edging closer and closer to the relegation zone – but who were this week’s best individual performers?

We’ve included players from clubs such as Newcastle United, Nottingham Forest and Chelsea in our team of the week – who made it into your XI?

GK: Melker Ellborg

Sunderland fans may have been worried when Robin Roefs was ruled out with an injury, but Melker Ellborg put forth an excellent shift between the sticks in his stead.

He made four saves to maintain Sunderland’s clean sheet away at Leeds United, as the Black Cats picked up a 1-0 win on the road.

RB: Kieran Trippier

Kieran Trippier isn’t the player he used to be, but he rolled back the years when Newcastle took on Manchester United in midweek.

CB: James Tarkowski

James Tarkowski has quietly been one of the best defenders in the Premier League this season – he’s limited, but very effective.

He tormented his former club on Tuesday night, scoring a powerful header and making a number of clearances to prevent Burnley from finding the back of the net.

CB: James Hill

Their game against Brentford was ditchwater-dull, but Hill had plenty of work to do to ensure that Bournemouth didn’t concede.
