[The Sun](https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/38406452/nicolas-jackson-bayern-munich-chelsea-aston-villa/?utm_medium=Social&utm_campaign=sunfootballtwitter&utm_source=Twitter#Echobox=1772633168) have just put out a piece referring to their sources close to Nicolas Jackson, the Chelsea striker on loan at Bayern Munich.
Jackson has not played much, and all expectations are that he will return to Chelsea in the summer without his deal becoming permanent. But according to this piece, “sources close to the player have consistently denied that Bayern have made a decision on his future, insisting there is still a lot of football to be played.”
Not only that, but:
“SunSport has been told that despite his reduced game time and impact, Bayern manager Vincent Kompany has held talks with him, being as honest and candid as possible, stressing that he remains a key part of the squad and that nothing will be decided until the end of the season.”
Chelsea fans shouldn’t get overexcited by prospects of Jackson Munich stay
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
While this piece is designed to make Chelsea fans feel like there’s a chance that Jackson stays in Munich beyond this season, the fact that Kompany has spoken to him means nothing on that front.
Bayern Munich are 11 points clear and now effectively have the Bundesliga wrapped up. We’d expect Jackson to start playing a little more regularly in the league now, but only because the real starters are being saved for the Champions League.
It makes sense for Kompany to give him a nice pep talk to keep his player positive until the summer – but don’t fool yourself into thinking that means there’s a chance he stays in Munich.
