Alabama quarterback Ty Simpson took a visit on Thursday with the NFC North’s Cleveland Browns according to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero.

This comes following and impressive NFL Combine performance from Simpson where the consensus No. 2 quarterback in the draft opted to throw in front of the scouts. In years past, it has become a norm for the top quarterbacks to throw at their pro days but Simpson still displayed his ability regardless.

Simpson has already been linked to Cleveland as a viable option prior to the combine. The Browns, who are coming off of another disastrous season which included starts from quarterbacks such as Joe Flacco, Dillon Gabriel and Shedeur Sanders could be going back to the well once again.

Cleveland currently possesses the No. 6 and No. 24 picks in the first round and Simpson could be as high as or low in either spot.

With just 15 starts with the Crimson Tide, Simpson took full advantage of his opportunity last season solidifying himself as a top talent in the draft class. Simpson passed for 3,567 yards and 28 touchdowns while leading Alabama to the SEC Championship and College Football Playoff.
