Liverpool fans could be left seething after massive Reds transfer exit claim

**Liverpool could allow Rio Ngumoha to leave the club on loan in the summer transfer window, according to former scout Mick Brown.**

The 17-year-old has been one of the few positives in a wretched season at Anfield, becoming a genuinely exciting squad option for Arne Slot.

Ngumoha scored a memorable last-gasp winner at Newcastle United early in the campaign, and he consistently looks more dangerous than Mohamed Salah and Cody Gakpo when he is introduced in games.

Speaking to [_Football Insider_](https://www.footballinsider247.com/liverpool-prepared-to-accept-rio-ngumoha-offer-hes-not-going-to-develop-under-arne-slot/), Brown made the shock claim that Liverpool could opt to loan the Englishman out this summer, in order to give him more regular playing time:

_“Ngumoha is obviously a very talented player. Liverpool rate him very highly, they’ve got high hopes for his future and see him as being one of their star players over the next ten years or more. The problem is, the only way he can develop and improve is if he’s playing regular football, and it doesn’t look like he’s going to get that under Slot at the moment._

_“Just playing 10, 15, 20 minutes here and there isn’t enough, he needs to be starting games, getting used to the pace, and learning how to perform at this level. I think there’s a good chance they could let him go out on loan next season just to get that playing time._

_“A lot of Premier League clubs could benefit from having a player like him, and he would benefit from making that step and playing every week. Then, long-term, he can return to the Liverpool team as a better and more experienced player. If the manager has doubts about trusting him or whatever it is at the moment, it could be a good way to get around that without it impacting his development._

_“Plus, if they go out and bring a new winger in it’s going to push him even further away from the starting XI. If that happens, I’m sure he will be allowed to go on loan.”_

**Liverpool would be mad to loan out Rio Ngumoha**

--------------------------------------------------

Sending young players out on loan can clearly have its merits, allowing them to develop, but Ngumoha is a special young talent who should be seen as an important squad figure next season.

Granted, he is still raw, but so was Raheem Sterling at a similar age, and he was starring for the Reds as a teenager during the 2013/14 season.

Ngumoha shouldn’t be seen as Liverpool’s answer on the left wing right now, with a new signing needed there, but he can be an upgrade on Gakpo if this season is anything to go by.

Some youngsters are too good to be loaned out, and Ngumoha falls into that bracket, with supporters potentially fuming if he heads elsewhere in the summer.
