Liverpool star’s agents deny claims from TV star – Drama is ‘completely unfounded’

Dominik Szoboszlai’s agents have been forced to respond after the Liverpool star was somewhat called out by a TV star in Hungary.

Blikk explain the situation today, and how Szoboszlai’s agents have stepped in to play down the ‘completely unfounded’ claims about the 25-year-old.

For those that don’t know, the Liverpool midfielder is the star man in his native Hungary. He’s the national team’s leading player, their captain and very much considered a Hungarian David Beckham.

In fact, his recent reveal of a new hairdo sparked newspaper articles. That’s how popular he is. It’s even been said he should consider leaving Liverpool to help his image.

Hungary popularity

This all means he’s also the prime target for attention, particularly when it comes to autographs. Radio 1 presenter Balázs Sebestyén is one such autograph hunter.

He’s a popular TV show personality and producer in Hungary, as well as working on various radio shows. One of his shows has famous people reading a page from an interview with the son of Salvo Riina, the former leader of the Sicilian mafia.

The guests on the show then recommend another star to continue the reading. One recent guest, Peti Marics, suggested Szoboszlai should be the next. Sebestyén shot this down, claiming the Liverpool star does not like him.

“We had a recommendation for Szoboszlai, but it didn’t work out. We are always open to him, but we are knocking on closed doors,” he said.

This comes after he previously claimed the Liverpool star does not like him. Sebestyén had criticised Hungarian football, which he claims Szoboszlai took personally. So much so, he refused the personality an autograph.

“He didn’t sign it, but I understand that it was meant for me,” explained Sebestyén.

“I really like Dominik, but he doesn’t like me. I don’t have a very high opinion of Hungarian football and was already criticising football when Dominik wasn’t playing for Liverpool yet. But he took it badly.”

The Liverpool star’s agents want to clear up the matter. And as far as they’re concerned, these claims from the TV personality are unfounded.

“Neither Dominik nor our agency wishes to comment on the above, as we have not done so before, as the above statements are completely unfounded,” they responded when asked by Blikk.

Liverpool focus

Szoboszlai, for his part, clearly doesn’t want to get involved. But he also doesn’t want anyone making false claims about his personality either.

His focus, at least as far as Liverpool are concerned, needs to be elsewhere anyway. The Reds now find themselves firmly in a battle for the Champions League following the defeat to Wolves this week.

That left Arne Slot’s side sixth, three points outside the top four and perhaps even looking over their shoulders at Brentford four points behind in seventh.

The Reds need to focus, and quickly, and could certainly do without star men like Szoboszlai being dragged into unnecessary drama back in Hungary. That is perhaps why his agents have now intervened.
