Club could change their mind about Everton offer – Player remains on Toffees list

Juventus may have changed their minds on Everton’s interest in Edon Zhegrova, after rejecting two previous bids from Toffees for him.

That’s according to Sport Mediaset, relayed by Tutto Juve. The Italian newspaper reports that Zhegrova’s future at Juventus remains in the air.

According to their information, the 26-year-old winger remains in Everton’s sights. David Moyes’ side already tried to sign him in the January transfer window.

Juventus were uninterested in selling at that point, though. The Italian giants rejected two offers from Everton at that point. Now, though, they could change their minds if Everton were to make a third approach this summer.

Juventus want a sale

Zhegrova has never managed to carve out a place for himself with the Serie A side. That’s partly been due to injuries. Now they are considering a sale if Everton were to return with a bid.

There’s no mention of an asking price in this report though. Given Juventus paid €15.5m in September last year, it’s easy to imagine they would want that back as a minimum.

A figure around that ball park would certainly suit Everton, although spending on another right-winger after spending big on Tyler Dibling last summer is questionable.

The youngster has barely featured for Everton this season, though, raising doubts about his future at the Hill Dickinson under David Moyes.

Analysis: Everton interest keeps being pushed

Reports about interest in Zhegrova refuse to go away either. Earlier this month Sport Witness covered a report about a renewed Everton interest essentially being encouraged by Juventus.

That followed a report at the end of February that insisted that Everton were back in for the winger. That was, of course, following their attempts to get him in the January transfer window. Now Sport Mediaset are saying the same.

Given he has a deal until 2030, Juventus are in no particular rush to sell. There’s no pressure to do so anyway.

But it appears they would like to, and that is perhaps why Everton are being drummed up as potential suitors again. If anything, this all feels like Juventus issuing a come and get me.
