DJ Moore Sends Strong Message to Bears After Trade to Bills

On Thursday, the Bears parted ways with star wide receiver DJ Moore, trading him to the Buffalo Bills after three seasons in Chicago, which included last season’s stellar run into the postseason.

However, his team appears locked in on upgrading its roster for a strong playoff run under head coach Ben Johnson and quarterback Caleb Williams. With the big trade, they’ll open up space to pay their younger receivers, including Rome Odunze, Luther Burden III, and Colston Loveland.

After the trade news hit, Moore took to his official Instagram and shared a strong message to the team, his teammates, the organization, and fans about his time as a Chicago Bear.

“I Wanna Say Appreciate all the love and support the last three years. My family and I were proud to call this place home and this community has been unbelievable to us. We will miss you all,” he started his IG message with.

“To the fans, you all embraced me with open arms from my first day here. I gave my all every time I stepped on the field and hopefully I made you all proud with the way I performed. We have some unbelievable memories at Soldier Field and you all are a huge part of them!!” Moore wrote.

Those memories likely include that incredible 46-yard game-winning touchdown catch he made after teammate Caleb Williams’ heave to the endzone. That resulted in a thrilling overtime win against the Green Bay Packers.

“To my Bears teammates, coaches and staff, I enjoyed going to work with you every day. I'll miss seeing you all at Halas Hall. You all made me grateful every day to be a Chicago Bear!! I Appreciate you all,” he said before ending with, “And it’s always F.”

The closing note seems to reference the Bears’ storied rivalry with the Packers and the trash-talking phrase that often accompanies it: “F*** the Packers.”

On Thursday, news broke that Chicago sent Moore, along with a 2026 fifth-round draft pick, to the Bills in exchange for a 2026 second-round draft pick, giving them a chance to add more talent in the offseason. That could be used in a trade or to select a talented player in April’s 2026 NFL Draft.

He originally joined Chicago in 2023 after a trade with the Carolina Panthers. In the past season, he tallied 50 receptions for 682 yards and six touchdowns, and also participated in the Bears' two playoff games, achieving 116 yards and two touchdowns on 11 receptions.

Moore now gets a fresh start in Buffalo, where he’ll likely become a significant option for quarterback Josh Allen on the field, as the Bills attempt to advance further in the postseason.
