American Express has struck a long-term deal with AMB Sports and Entertainment that makes the card company an official payments partner of the Atlanta Falcons, Atlanta United, and Mercedes-Benz Stadium. The partnership also positions the company as an early backer of Atlanta’s future women’s professional soccer club.

The agreement, which was announced on March 4, also brings the stadium into the American Express Venue Collection, a program that offers cardholders early ticket access, dedicated entry lanes, and the option to earn statement credits on concession purchases. Those perks go live at Mercedes-Benz Stadium at Atlanta United’s home opener against Real Salt Lake on March 7.

AMEX sponsorship

Under the deal, American Express receives integrated branding across team platforms, in-stadium signage during home games, presenting partnerships tied to select fan programming, and year-round placement across digital, broadcast, and social channels.

“American Express enhances how people experience our teams, our stadium, and our city from arrival through the final whistle,” said Nana-Yaw Asamoah, chief commercial officer of AMB Sports and Entertainment. “As a Founding Partner of Mercedes-Benz Stadium, Amex will play a meaningful role in how we continue to elevate Atlanta as a world-class sports and entertainment destination.”

Elizabeth Rutledge, chief marketing officer at American Express, framed the deal as part of a broader push into sports and live entertainment. “Recognizing the importance of sports and music fandom, we are creating even more value for our customers across moments that matter to them,” she said.

Women’s soccer tie-in

The partnership extends to AMBSE’s NWSL expansion club, which is scheduled to begin play in 2028. American Express will hold integrated sponsorship rights with the team, making it one of the franchise’s earliest named corporate partners.

The Atlanta deal is part of a wider American Express push in the NFL market. The company announced similar agreements with MetLife Stadium and both New York-area NFL teams. The company previously announced a deal with Hard Rock Stadium and the Miami Dolphins.
