Rams make decision on trade talks with Eagles over All-Pro WR

This offseason, the Los Angeles Rams are one of the more exciting teams around the NFL. While there will be plenty of big moves that don't involve the Rams, their plan to go all-in will likely have Los Angeles linked to numerous significant moves.

They've already made one big trade, acquiring Trent McDuffie from the Kansas City Chiefs in a blockbuster offer with four draft picks. But McDuffie wasn't the only All-Pro the Rams discussed in trade talks this offseason.

According to The Athletic's Dianna Russini, the Rams had discussed a blockbuster trade with the Philadelphia Eagles for All-Pro wide receiver AJ Brown. However, Russini also reports that those talks are done, as the Rams have moved on.

Rams make trade decision on AJ Brown

"The Rams discussed trading for (AJ) Brown, but have moved on," Russini reported Friday morning.

A few days before the new league year began, the Rams were considering making an absolutely stunning trade.

If the Rams could've pulled this off, Matthew Stafford would be throwing to Brown, Puka Nacua, and Devante Adams. There's no better WR trio in the NFL, and potentially, in all of NFL history.

But acquiring Brown would've cost the Rams a lot. The Eagles have been asking for at least a first-round pick this offseason.

While the Rams could give up their 2027 first-round pick instead of No. 13 overall, they have other pressing needs that they should address with their resources.

If only one of Adams and Nacua were coming back, then this pursuit would make more sense. But, with both expected to be back for at least 2026, there's little reason to add Brown in a trade.

Landing him would've made for a very fun wide receiver room and offense. However, it doesn't make much sense to add Brown to the offense, considering it is as good as it is.

Even though Russini's report is the first mention that the Rams had discussed a trade for Brown, the odds of a deal were minimal at best.
