Rosenior has received a huge backlash after his comment on the Chelsea player Pedro Neto. Chelsea’s winger Pedro Neto has received a red card from the match official in the North London Derby against Arsenal. After a thrilling match, Arsenal has managed to win the game 2-1, which was the third consecutive game Rosenior has lost against them. It would be interesting to see how the coach manages the team after the loss.
Rosenior thought that Neto was actually quite a threat before his dismissal against Mikel Arteta’s men.
In his post-match press conference, according to the reports, the Chelsea manager said:
“It’s not good for Pedro because he’s a very good player. Up until that moment, he was causing Arsenal so many problems.
“As a group, with me as the leader, we want to take more accountability in some of the decision-making. Some of the goals we are conceding, they’re not acceptable.”
Neto made a couple of good carries down the right, but other than that, the 25-year-old did not do much else. There are not too many Chelsea fans who are going to agree with Rosenior, especially once they see the actual stats that Neto posted before his dismissal. For example, according to a rating app, Neto did not complete a single successful dribble or register one accurate cross.
He was at least able to make two key passes, but Arsenal stopped him pretty well. Their defense would not have walked away with the feeling that he had caused them a lot of problems on the afternoon.
Rosenior showed his anger at the red card of Chelsea player Neto
Liam Rosenior has admitted Chelsea ‘need to do something’ about their ‘deep lying’ discipline problems after Pedro Neto was sent off in Sunday’s 2-1 defeat against Arsenal. Neto’s 70th-minute dismissal is Chelsea’s 10th red card of the season across all competitions. Including one for former boss Enzo Maresca, and helped tip a tight game at Emirates Stadium in the hosts’ favor.
William Saliba’s 21st-minute opener was ruled out by Piero Hincapie’s own goal in first half stoppage time before Jurrien Timber’s 66th minute header restored Arsenal’s lead. Neto was booked for dissent in response to Timber’s goal and sent off. Four minutes later for a lunge on Gabriel Martinelli as Arsenal launched a counterattack.
Chelsea dropped two points last weekend as Wesley Fofana was sent off before Burnley equalized in stoppage time to earn a 1-1 draw at Stamford Bridge.
Liam said: “We need to do something (about our discipline), for sure. I need to speak to the coaching staff, the staff around the club, and the players because it’s not acceptable.”
Inside the North London Derby
Arsenal saw off Chelsea with a 2-1 game to move five points clear at the top of the Premier League on Sunday.
Three corners provided the three goals, as William Saliba put the hosts in front first. Before a Cristhian Mosquera own goal sent the two sides level into half time. The second 45 saw the hosts take the lead again, their 16th this league term from a corner. Jurrien Timber bundled over from a Declan Rice delivery, before Pedro Neto saw himself sent off with two yellow cards in the space of three minutes.
Arsenal headed into this clash buoyed after a 4-1 thrashing of their arch rivals Spurs last weekend. Eberechi Eze and Viktor Gyokeres both scored a brace.
Chelsea, though, were held at home by Burnley after Burnley’s Zian scored just moments from time in a game that saw Wesley Fofana sent off, meaning he missed out on Sunday.
