The 2026 NFL Draft is nearly a month away and all eyes are on the Philadelphia Eagles regarding star wide receiver AJ Brown and his future with the NFC East franchise.
Since last season, the Super Bowl-winning wideout has been the subject of trade rumors. That’s included many links to Brown’s former head coach Mike Vrabel and the AFC champion New England Patriots.

However, Philadelphia sports radio host Anthony Gargano revealed an intriguing development regarding the Brown saga Friday morning. Gargano reports the Eagles were offered first and third round picks for AJ Brown prior to the upcoming NFL Draft.

Eagles general manager Howie Roseman supposedly is holding out for more in a potential trade package though. Gargano’s report indicated that Roseman is happy to decline any offer that he deems short of what the wide receiver commands on the market.

Meanwhile, if the Eagles do trade Brown this offseason the franchise sits in a tough spot at wide receiver. The team currently only has Devonta Smith to rely on at the position group with Jahan Dotson a pending free agent.
Star tight end Dallas Goedert is also exploring his free agency options prior to the next NFL season despite being one of Jalen Hurts’ top pass catchers over recent years.

For New England, their pursuit of Brown makes a lot of sense given their own need at receiver. The Patriots recently cut Stefon Diggs after the the team lost in Super Bowl 60 against the Seattle Seahawks.

Last season, AJ Brown posted his fourth consecutive 1,000-yard season since joining the Eagles. Brown joined Philadelphia in a trade from the Tennessee Titans prior to the 2022 season.
