After an incredible 2025 NFL season, with superstar quarterback Matthew Stafford winning an NFL MVP award for the first time and the team being a legitimate Super Bowl title contender that fell just short of the big game in February, the Los Angeles Rams are determined to remain a force to be reckoned with in 2026.
The Rams have made it clear they aren’t messing around and fully intend to take advantage of another championship window, as evidenced by their aggressive efforts to improve the roster.

During the 2025 campaign, the Rams had one of the best wide receiver duos in the NFL, with rising star Puka Nacua and veteran Davante Adams taking the team’s passing game to another level, with Stafford reaping the benefits, passing for a league-best 4,707 yards and a career-high 46 touchdowns.
Strangely enough, the Rams’ brass seem to want to be even more dominant with their passing attack in 2026, as they recently had trade discussions with the Philadelphia Eagles about acquiring superstar wideout A.J. Brown, according to Dianna Russini of The Athletic.
This is an interesting development, to say the least. The one position the Rams seem to be the most secure in heading into the 2026 campaign is at wide receiver, so bringing in another star that will demand the ball and has had his issues in Philadelphia is a bit of an odd move.
Obviously, things didn’t pan out, and the Eagles were asking too much for their superstar wide receiver, but that doesn’t answer the question of why general manager Les Snead and company would even explore this option.
As of right now, it seems like the New England Patriots have the inside track to landing Brown, reuniting him with his old Tennessee Titans head coach, Mike Vrabel, and giving rising star quarterback Drake Maye a legitimate No. 1 option downfield, especially after the news that Stefon Diggs will be released next week.
Sean McVay Opens Up About Bringing on Kliff Kingsbury

Along with Snead and company shaking things up to improve the roster, the team also made a notable addition to the coaching staff, bringing in former Washington Commanders offensive coordinator Kliff Kingsbury to be assistant head coach under Sean McVay.
“Kliff will be the assistant head coach,” McVay said of Kingsbury. “Great overseer of a lot of things offensively. I think the biggest thing will be that collaboration of understanding some of the success with some of the things he’s done, some of the things we’ve done.”
McVay is looking forward to leaning on Kingsbury, who also has experience as an NFL head coach.
“So, there might be some times for us to be able to figure out where does that fit. But I think most importantly, he’ll be basically there as someone I can lean on in a lot of the different things that come up in this chair, or really just big picture, and that’s where he’ll be tremendously valuable person for our staff. When you guys get to know him, he’s got a great humility, a great way about himself, and just want to come in, learn, and contribute.”
