Packers Star Micah Parsons Reveals Heartbreaking Injury Admission

Last season, the Green Bay Packers made a massive move to upgrade their defense by acquiring Micah Parsons via trade from the Dallas Cowboys. However, his first campaign with Green Bay ultimately ended with a brutal injury.

In his team’s Week 15 game against the Denver Broncos, Parsons suffered a non-contact injury as he was chasing quarterback Bo Nix on the field. He’d leave the game and get the unfortunate news that he’d torn his ACL, ending his season and requiring surgery.

Parsons’ absence hurt, as it took away one of the league’s imposing defenders, someone the team could have used in the NFC Wild Card Round against NFC North rivals, the Chicago Bears. The Bears, led by young phenom Caleb Williams at quarterback, achieved a stellar 31-27 comeback win over Green Bay, with Parsons unable to participate.

In an interview clip shared by “Title Town Talks,” Parsons discussed the emotional toll the injury had on him, noting that it led him to shed tears over the situation.

“I cried because I worked so hard and it was all gone,” Parsons admitted, adding, “I’m talking about the season. I was having a great year and my team was getting ready to go to the playoffs.”

“I wanted really bad to win for the organization, myself, and my teammates,” he said, regarding his goal in playing for Green Bay.

He also said he realized “it was over” after the ACL injury and that he had no more control over their situation in the postseason.

Parsons still posted impressive stats in 14 games, tallying 41 combined tackles and 12.5 sacks. That earned him his fifth career Pro Bowl selection, which he still attended.

While he didn't participate in that game due to injury, he still enjoyed himself, riding around on a scooter and recording video footage at the event.

Ahead of and during the season, some believed that the Packers were true Super Bowl contenders. With a 9-7 record, they took a brief step back last season, as Jordan Love also missed several games due to injuries, and the Bears then overtook them in the postseason.

That said, it’d be surprising if Love, Parsons, and the Packers aren’t back to form and contending once again with the best of the best in the league. The defensive star said in January that he plans to return by Week 1 of the 2026 season, but Week 3 could be a more realistic return.
