The Green Bay Packers enter the offseason needing to address the center position after Elgton Jenkins’s position change did not pan out before he suffered a season-ending injury, while Sean Rhyan was an upgrade over him but also struggled. With Green Bay’s current cap situation, they are not expected to be in a bidding war for Tyler Linderbaum or Connor McGovern, and Cade Mays may also command a salary higher than they are willing to pay. Lastly, the Packers may not draft a center until Day 3 due to other positional needs.

As a result, the team may have to settle for a center at a more affordable rate.
A Wisconsin native could be in play for the Green Bay Packers

Tyler Biadasz was surprisingly released by the Washington Commanders last week. The Pro Bowl center grew up in Amherst, Wisconsin, and played college football for the Wisconsin Badgers, where he was named a two-time First-Team All-Big Ten, the Rimington Trophy winner for best center, and a unanimous All-American in 2019, helping anchor the offensive line when Jonathan Taylor rushed for 2,000 yards. Since Biadasz was released, he can sign with any team now rather than having to wait until the tampering window.

Given his Wisconsin connections, not being expected to command a massive salary, and being an upgrade over Elgton Jenkins and Sean Rhyan, it would make sense for the Packers to sign him. One thing to consider is that Biadasz did miss the regular-season finale due to a lingering knee and ankle injury.

According to Ian Rapoport, the Los Angeles Chargers have signed Tyler Biadasz to a three-year, $30 million contract on Friday morning after he visited the facility on Thursday. The Green Bay Packers didn’t even schedule a visit with Biadasz, who would have been in the reasonable range for a center. With Elgton Jenkins set to be released and Sean Rhyan currently a free agent, Jacob Monk is the only center under contract.
