Sandro Tonali’s agent’s presence at Arsenal’s clash with Brighton and Hove Albion has sparked new questions about his future at Newcastle United.
That’s according to Tuttosport, relayed by Sport Mediaset. The Italian outlet cover the Newcastle star today and how he could be set for Arsenal, or Manchester United.
The newspaper explains that the ‘signals from England’ speak clearly about the Newcastle midfielder. He’s a long-term target for Juventus but, their hopes of getting him seem slim.
That’s because his agent was recently in the stands at the Amex for Brighton vs Arsenal. That did not go unnoticed back in Italy. The 25-year-old is the ‘object of desire’ of the world’s top clubs.
Arsenal and Manchester United moves
While Juventus dream of bringing him back to Serie A, the path seems clearer for the likes of Arsenal and Manchester United.
According to their information, Arsenal are ready to make a new push after their February bid. Manchester United, meanwhile, see the midfielder as an ideal heir to Casemiro. The Brazilian is set to depart in the summer at the end of his contract.
Newcastle, for their part, are ‘putting up a front’. The Magpies want €100m for their star man. But the pressure from the big clubs is ‘immense’ and only growing.
The positive for them is that Tonali’s current contract runs until 2029, so there is no immediate pressure to sell. Eddie Howe’s side also hold an option to trigger a further year on that and extend it to 2030.
Newcastle United contract to 2029
That’s not stopping the rumours about Arsenal and Manchester United, though. A report from Italy yesterday again insisted that both sides were keen on the Newcastle star.
That report covered Juventus’ efforts, and the competition from ‘Arsenal to Manchester United’.
A report before that, on the second, stated that Old Trafford officials had already made contact about a move this summer. That also presented the midfielder as a replacement for Casemiro.
Now his agent’s presence at Arsenal’s win over Brighton has only fuelled the rumours. If he turns up at a Manchester United game before the summer, that will be another clear signal for the likes of Juventus.
