Seahawks predicted to lose Super Bowl MVP RB and All-Pro WR to Commanders in free agency

The Seattle Seahawks have a lot of free agents the team needs to decide whether to bring back or let walk this offseason.

While there are some big pieces on defense, with Coby Bryant, Riq Woolen, Josh Jobe, and Boye Mafe all hitting free agency, the bigger issues to address are on offense with Kenneth Walker III and Rashid Shaheed.

ESPN's Dan Graziano predicts that the Seahawks will lose both Walker and Shaheed this offseason, both to the same team, the Washington Commanders, on deals worth at least $40 million over three years.

Seahawks predicted to lose Walker, Shaheed to Commanders

"Kenneth Walker III, RB. Contract projection: Three years, $44 million with $22 million guaranteed. Predicted landing spot: Washington Commanders," Graziano writes. "Rashid Shaheed, WR. Contract projection: Three years, $40 million with $20 million guaranteed. Predicted landing spot: Washington Commanders."

This offseason, the Seahawks are going to lose a few players to new teams in free agency. While seeing Walker, the Super Bowl 60 MVP, leave in free agency would sting, it looks more likely than ever that he's headed elsewhere.

With the Commanders in dire need of running back help, it wouldn't be a surprise if Walker landed a strong deal with Seattle. This $44 million deal over three years would be a solid offer for Walker, and one he would have a hard time declining.

Seattle likely won't offer such a lofty deal to Walker, with their other needs being much bigger priorities. But to lose Shaheed on top of Walker, and to the same team, would be a tough reality for the Seahawks.

Shaheed is a lot more difficult to replace than Walker, as the All-Pro wide receiver/returner is not a simple player to replace. There aren't many players in the NFL with his speed and game-changing ability in the return game.

But, as is the case with Walker, re-signing Shaheed will be difficult to justify with the massive paydays for Jaxon Smith-Njigba and Devon Witherspoon on the horizon.

Graziano is predicting the Seahawks will lose both Walker and Shaheed in free agency, and to the same team. Seeing Walker and Shaheed share a jersey will be a bitter reality for the Seahawks, especially with how great they were in their Super Bowl run.
