Cam Skattebo had a really bad season with the New York Giants, as they finished last in the NFC East with a 4-13 record. They missed the playoffs for the third consecutive season, last making a playoff berth in the 2022 regular season.
The repeated disappointments over the years has caused much anger among fans, who want to see better from the franchise and the players. They are currently enjoying their offseason period, but Skattebo is facing backlash for his online activity.
Cam Skattebo complains about American Airlines
Skattebo was the Giants’ fourth-round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft from Arizona State. He emerged as a promising rookie running back during his debut season. In the 8 games he appeared in, starting 5 of them, he rushed for 410 yards and 5 touchdowns while also catching 24 passes for 207 yards and 2 touchdowns.

However, a season-ending right ankle injury sustained in October 2025 against the Philadelphia Eagles forced him to miss the rest of his rookie season. It required emergency surgery but Skattebo has been recovering well since then, and is expected to join the Giants’ offseason program before the 2026 NFL season begins.
The running back is currently free due to the offseason, and is doing some traveling. Recently, he tweeted about one of his bad experiences while flying. He tweeted, “American Airlines…. A JOKE”. The player must have had a bad experience with the airline, but did not describe it in detail, whether it was due to delays, cancellations or other service-related issues.
His tweet went viral, and garnered a lot of comments. While many agreed with his assessment about the airlines, there were also negative comments directed at him. Many of them could not believe a well-paid NFL player is complaining about a commerical flight.

A lot of NFL fans blasted the player for complaining about an airline, considering he is an NFL player.
One user said, “They don’t let you headbutt stuff ?”
A second user wrote, “Grow up and quit crying bud”.
A third user replied, “Obligatory athlete crashout over an airline post“.
Another added, “You decided to not fly a premium carrier brother.. CTE is strong with this one”.
A fifth remarked, “Millionaire taking American Airlines 😂😂”.
A sixth user commented, “Dude, I love you but one of the first signs of getting money and becoming a Karen is tweeting at airlines.”
Cam Skattebo will have to prepare for the 2026 NFL season as soon as he recovers from his injury.
